Trustworthy Systems Lab Seminar

On 12th February 2025, Ulrike Engeln presented her talk ‘Executable Explanations of Control Software’ at the Trustworthy Systems Lab Seminar series at the University of Bristol. In her presentation, Engeln introduced the CAUSE approach, which enables cyber-physical system controllers to explain their behavior. The talk motivated the abstract explanation pattern introduced by CAUSE, illustrated the concept of explanations for control software (where explanations are executable networks of timed automata), and presented the first research results on online piecewise approximation of control outputs.


CAUSE Retreat 2025: A Successful Conclusion

We’re thrilled to announce that our three-day CAUSE Retreat has just wrapped up successfully! Researchers, collaborators, and invited experts gathered to share insights, attend workshops, and set new goals for joint publications. From hands-on demonstrator sessions to engaging group discussions and a memorable social event, everyone left inspired and ready to move forward. We look forward to building on these outcomes and seeing our collective ideas flourish in the coming months.


Our first retreat in Bremervörde
15 January 2025

We’re having our first retreat of 3 days. The program is packed with updating each other on the current state and next steps of each project. We are also starting to work on our demonstrator and identify topics for joint research work on subtopics. Moreover, we are creating our data management plan.
